The 100% Club since being founded in 2011
The 100% Club began life in October 2011 with a drinks reception in a London wine bar and celebrated its first year anniversary in October 2012 at the Institute of Directors. Earlier in 2012 a breakfast seminar was held, hosted by F&C Asset Management, which connected Australian women in governance with their UK based counterparts.
Various networking events were held in 2013 and 2014, including a summer drinks reception at the House of St Barnabas, sponsored by Shaftesbury Plc, culminating in the third year anniversary breakfast event at the Institute of Directors, where we heard from Pavita Cooper of Elliott Cooper Partners and Jen Rolfe of Practically Positive.
Our first event for 2015 was kindly hosted by Hogan Lovells on 20th January 2015. For our second event on 15th July 2015, we held a private audience with the Right Honourable Nicky Morgan, then UK Secretary of State for Education and Minister for Women and Equalities, hosted by Allen & Overy. Nicky spoke about the gender pay gap legislation which the UK Government launched in the week of the event. The 100% Club celebrated its fourth anniversary with a social gathering in November 2015.
Our first event for 2016 was in January and hosted by RPMI Railpen with guest speaker Ann Francke, CEO of the Chartered Management Institute, with a debate on corporate cultures and promoting true equality in the workplace. Our second event of 2016 was in May, where we were in conversation with Dame Fiona Woolf, Lord Mayor of the City of London 2013-2014 and leading energy lawyer with CMS Cameron McKenna. Hosted by Capital Group, Fiona talked about her time as Lord Mayor, diversity and inclusion and supporting the transition to a low carbon economy.
The 100% Club celebrated its fifth anniversary on 11th October 2016 with a special evening kindly hosted by Standard Life Investments at their offices in the iconic Gherkin building with over 100 members.
The 100% Club was in conversation with Helen Dean, CEO of NEST and hosted by Vanguard Asset Management. Helen talked about her career to date, the work of NEST as a responsible investor and the importance of diversity for long term investors.
The 100% Club was in conversation with Philippa Foster Back, CBE and Director of the Institute of Business Ethics and hosted by Charles Russell Speechlys LLP.

The 100% Club held its seven year anniversary event at the Guildhall where we were in conversation with Rosemary Martin from Vodafone and hosted by the City of London Corporation and their Policy Chair, Catherine McGuinness. Rosemary shared her experiences on her career to date and her championing of diversity and innovation.
In June 2019, The 100% Club held a special event in collaboration with Company Matters at Link Asset Services where the new logo was unveiled and Deborah’s plans for the future development of The 100% Club were discussed with members.
In December 2019, The 100% Club was in conversation with Moni Mannings, independent non-executive director at Investec Bank and Deputy Chair of Barnardo’s and hosted by EY. Moni shared her experiences on her career to date including as a non-executive director and her championing of diversity and inclusion.
In November 2022, The 100% Club was hosted by Tracey Brady and her team at KPMG, where research on the impact of The 100% Club was launched. The research, entitled ‘The 100% Club: Collaboration over Competition – Demonstrating the Power of a Gender Based Network’ was undertaken by Faith Borland for her undergraduate degree dissertation at the University of Cambridge. At the event, Faith presented the key findings and Denise Wilson, CEO of the FTSE Women Leaders Review, welcomed the research. Some of the members of The 100% Club who participated in the research shared their views on why networks such as The 100% Club are so important.
